Bhagavad Gita

  1. Describe ways in which you feel like Arjuna.  I believe that he played a key role in developing the Bhagavad Gita.
  2. How could you specifically apply the message of the Bhagavad Gita? I could try and improve my life by adapting a more positive attitude towards things.
  3. How would the ancient Indian perspective of the Bhagavad Gita be VERY different than the 21st Century American perspective of doing one’s duty? People today are not motivated to better their lives because they are more content to just do nothing.
  4. Now, venture back to ancient India. Think of a way the Bhagavad Gita could be used as a tool of oppression? This could be used as a tool of oppression because it could make you fear what will happen to you if you do not follow it.

Feng Shui

So I decided to feng shui the guest bedroom to create a space in which could be used as a place to relax.  No one really uses this room, so I tried to think of ways to improve and honor its chi by creating a more open space as well as honoring the five elements and bauga.  The elements and the colors of bauga were more balanced in this new set up, allowing there to be a better positive energy flow.  I really like this new set up because the space is more open and allows everything to flow nicer.  There is no clutter and no bed in the middle that breaks up the space.  This provides a space that can be used to relax and to unwind.

The Taoist Walk

The most powerful sensation I felt during the Taoist walk was the peace and tranquility of the walk.  I had never been on that path before so it was a new experience for me.  On the walk, I heard different birds and the whistles of the wind.  I remember the air being crisp and smelling so clean.  I thought of how beautiful the surrounding nature was and how tranquil and peaceful it was during the walk.   I felt at peace and like the stress of the week just melted away.  I connected this to Taoism because you humble yourself to the Earth and really just immerse yourself into the beauty of nature.
